Still alive

Yes, the McKenzie family is still alive and kicking. I've been mostly playing my other Sims game, but I still check in on them from time to time and see if I'm still interested in playing them (I am, it's just that my other game is better). I swear to God, I will FINISH THIS LEGACY!! People are counting on me! No, they're not, since I'm the only one who reads this blog. Except for maybe my mum or sisters, out of politeness. Anyway.

Felix is making a sincere effort to get his Lifetime Wish fufilled. If you'll remember, he needs to cure 12 transformed Sims. How to find transformed Sims? Transform them yourself.

Evil, but effective.
At this rate, he'll achieve his lifetime wish before he's an elder.

So you may have noticed I haven't played this legacy for a while. I was thinking about that while I played my other Sims game and decided it was probably because this legacy is getting damned difficult. There are EIGHT people in the house. Eight full grown people with constant wants and wishes. It gets tiring after about five minutes. So for the sake of the legacy, I made the difficult decision to move Daisy, Jerrod and Eugene out.

It was NOT easy
I moved them into the house right next door, so they're only a fence away from the rest of their family.

So I'm confused about why they felt the need to take a car. Lazy much?

New house!!
The new house is pretty cool. It has more than enough bedrooms and basement bar. It also came with a fully grown garden.

Woo garden

The house from the outside
So maybe now I've got less Sims to deal with I'll be updating a bit more often. Let's hope so anyway, 'cause once a month is pretty pitiful.

Weddings, weddings, weddings

Sorry it's been so long. I've been playing this other game that I just started randomly one night and it turns out I haven't lost the ability to play Sims without legacies. I've got them on Epic lifespan and it's a lot more fun than I remembered. Perhaps because I have all the expansions packs now.

Anyway! Even though I haven't played the McKenzie family for ages, I forgot to post an entry the last time. Bear with me because I may not remember exactly what went on.

Okay, I know what's going on here.

This is definitely a celebration of some kind.
Felix and Marisa decided to have a simple wedding in the front yard like so many of their ancestors before them. It was pretty standard.

Confetti and crying
Obligatory kiss shot
One spouse can't get into the house
Other spouse gets tired of waiting and cuts cake alone
You know, pretty typical Sims wedding. They all seemed to have fun though.

Except Marisa, who seems really unimpressed here.
Fletcher, who I STILL haven't gotten around to burying yet, showed up that night in his grandson's room.

You could have waited til I had a shirt on.
I like to imagine he gave him some grandfatherly advice, but he probably just gossiped about celebrities and told jokes.

You will remember that Daisy and Jerrod are engaged (actually I didn't remember, I had to go through old entries to check) and are also planning a wedding. A couple of days before, Daisy had her bachelorette party at Aquarius.

Well, in the lobby
Yeah, there was some sort of glitch that prevented them from using the elevator all night (I think someone was stuck in it) so they partied in the lobby instead. It was all right. Someone brought that boom box, and the strippers still showed up.

Marisa tried to out do them by dancing on the counter
There weren't any drinks, but luckily everyone was carrying champagne to spray on each other.

After the disappointment of her hens night, Daisy was determined to have the perfect wedding. I don't normally put all that much effort into weddings, since I'm not a big fan of them (I don't plan on ever having one myself) and there are so damn many of them in a legacy, but it didn't seem right for Daisy and Jerrod to get married in the front yard. They are all about style and fashion and flair. So I created this whole wedding hall and decked it out with all the decorations I have.

Can't tell if Marisa's stoked, or really mad that I didn't put in this kind of effort for her
It turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. I should be a wedding hall decorator.

Why did that guy think it was appropriate to come dressed as Gene Belcher??

Definitely the best wedding I've ever had, not that it was difficult to break that record. We had bars and food and a dancefloor, so the guests were happy to stick around after the ceremony.

Clementine played bartender, but an actual bartender showed up at the other bar! Community lots rock
Unfortunately Jerrod had a gig that night, so he had to skip out on the reception.

There was no audience. They were all at his wedding.
He came back afterwards though.

Luckily his work clothes fitted in here
I'm only including this shot so you can see the front of the hall. Check out those windows.
I feel like I should have changed Marisa's outfit. Oh well.
So now everyone is married, and I don't have to do another wedding until Nathan and Eugene settle down. Good.

Nathan becomes very attractive

On their last day together as kids, Nathan and Eugene threw a slumber party.

Cale got really into this kid's ghost story

While the kids were occupied, Felix and Marisa decided to go on a date to Aquarius.

Either they are very warm or she is very cold
 It went well!

Perhaps too well.

Really, guys? There's seven bedrooms at home
Clementine and Daisy tried to have a nice mother daughter convo but they kept offending each other.

I really don't care for your opinion on beds, mother.

Fuck you, Daisy.
Alas, childhood must come to an end, and the next day was Nathan's birthday. I picked a new place for the cake, do you like it?

It looks fancy.

I can't believe that child's parents let her bleach her hair at such a young age
Nathan seemed kind of surprised when he grew up, like he hadn't expected it to happen.

Who the hell gave me this crap shiny jacket?
He rolled the Irresistible trait.  I don't think he even needed it.

Not with that face.
EVERYBODY ATE CAKE AT THE SAME TIME AT THE SAME TABLE this is definitely my new favourite cake spot.

Someone ditched their cookie for cake at the last minute
Felix gave Nathan a guitar for his birthday, so he can start on the musical part on his lifetime ambition. He was so excited he started straight away. Now he's good looking, artistic, irresistible AND can play the guitar. Wow.

I've got a bad feeling he's going to be that cockhead who plays Wonderwall at parties.

Snowflake Day and the worst birthday party ever

Happy Snowflake Day!!

I've been trying to do Snowflake Day every time in this legacy, even though it's a bunch of effort to make shit Christmassy and you forget to delete all the decorations and the next thing you know it's Leisure Day and you've still got your holiday lights up. Also it's sort of the same every year. But this year I switched it up and put the Christmas tree in the different place. CRAZY!

I knew that glitch with the gift giving party wouldn't have just fixed itself, but I tried to throw one anyway. Like I do every year. I never learn. There is SO MUCH free floor space in this house, especially since I completed the recent renovations, but alas, I still got that stupid message telling me I hadn't cleared enough space for a 4x4 giftpile. Fuckers.

Still, a party was thrown, and presents were given.

Mostly to Nathan

Pizza for breakfast!

More presents!
I thought everyone would show up with food, as is the custom at parties, but only Hank brought a contribution to Christmas lunch. It was bread. A loaf of white bread.

What a spread.
Only Nathan ate it.

His tastebuds are too young to know they're getting ripped off.
Everyone else ate the key lime pie that Clementine whipped up after she realised her guests had come empty handed. Hank got really into it.

Isla is really unimpressed
Because it was a special day, Nathan was allowed to sleep in his parents bed.

Awww
Jerrod decided it was time to propose to Daisy. He chose an odd place to pull out the ring, but Daisy didn't seem to mind.

Not even in their room?
Marisa was a little surprised.

Congratulations, but it's 2am and I'd like to go to bed.
So now I have TWO weddings to plan, since Felix and Marisa still haven't gotten married. They're waiting until the weather gets a little better. Winter isn't the best time for a strapless white dress.

Because of the constant snow days, Nathan's first day of school didn't happen until he was almost halfway through childhood. It's okay though, he's learning stuff at home.

Like cooking
And painting
He chose his lifetime wish after his first day of school. Master of the Arts. It's unusual to choose your lifetime wish so young, but Nathan's traits are Artistic and Virtuoso and he's already at level 5 of the Painting skill so I think he knows what he's doing. If he starts learning guitar as a teen I reckon he could fufil his life ambition by adulthood.

Speaking of adulthood, one of Felix's midlife crisis wishes was to have a makeover. It's handy that his cousin is a stylist.

Before

After
He looks more like his age now. You can't keep that kind of hair forever.

The first day of spring was Eugene's birthday. This party was a freaking NIGHTMARE. For some reason no one could get Eugene out of his crib. It took almost an hour, and then Clementine kept walking outside instead of picking him up and taking him to the cake. The party started at four, and at seven I was STILL trying to get Eugene upstairs. Next time I throw a toddler party I'll do it in the dining room.

It's not like he's going to make use of the bar anyway
Jerrod had a gig at seven thirty, but I stopped him from going because I didn't want him to miss his son's birthday again. Looking at the below pictures, it seems he wasn't concerned.

He is not in the room
Poor Clementine was desperate for the toilet the whole time she was trying to get Eugene upstairs. She tried her best to hold on, but it didn't work.

Uh oh...

Oh dear.
Yeah, Eugene aged up in a puddle of piss.

I'd be unimpressed too, kid
I was going to put Eugene in the empty room upstairs, but it seemed too far away from the rest of the family, so I converted Daisy's room back into a kids room. She and Jerrod can have Beckett and Eveline's old room, since it's not been used since they died.

Eugene has turned out all right. Not quite as cute as Nathan, but he'll do.

I am breeding out the nose!
I have two kids now! They are the cutest together. Too bad Nathan will only be a child for a couple more days.

Matching pyjamas! Aww
